The History: The gliding is one of the most former(old) aeronautical disciplines. And so the pioneers of the aviation began:

Otto Lilienthal had the intelligence to wonder why flies a bird and not to try to mime the beating of its wings.
It(he) discovered(found) so the existence of the updraughts and the first rules(rulers) of the aerodynamics.

In 1890, it(he) took off aboard a wooden glider for its(his) first flight(theft). This glider is exposed(explained) to the Museum of the Air(sight) of Bourget as well that the other more recent machines, reflection of the technological evolution enters " wood and cloth(canvas) " and "plastics("plastic arts"). Three Gulls: international Symbol of the gliding, 3 gulls are also since the 40s the badge of the pilot's licence of glider. Most of the clubs are animated(stimulated) by volunteers and their activity depends essentially on weather conditions. The material and the proposed rates vary according to all these parameters (number of employees, a hours of flight(theft) accomplished in the year, number of gliders...)
