At an altitude of 205 metres,in the wild mountains from the region of the Aude, the site was appreciated and occupied in the Neolithic, ancient and contemporary ages.
This friendly village is crossed by old alleys lined with beautiful houses. The ruins of Alet's abbey, whose construction begins in the XII-th century, are still today peculiarly very bright.
Close to the ancient cathedral, raises the Holy Saint-André church, in a Southern Gothic style.
Also to discover, the western door (beginning of the XVIth century) and towards the old village, the rich half-timbered and corbelling houses of the XIII-th to the XV-th centuries.
But Alet, besides its old stones, is also a spa and of a place of reshaping yourself: as a matter of fact many people come here to enjoy hydrotherapy. The recognized establishment is well known to treat the disorders of metabolism and those of the digestive tracts.
