Fleury d'Aude

Located only some kilometres far away from the city of Narbonne , on the buttresses of the massif of Clape, Fleury-d'Aude is a typical village from the Languedoc.

During works and excavations, many relics of the past were found out and from this, it may be deduced that Pérignan (the ancient name of the city) already existed in the high Antiquity.

This fortified village during the Middle Ages always reveals its fortifications.

Nowadays yet, the inhabitants of Fleury are called the Pérignanais.

You can admire the magnificent stained-glass windows in the Holy church Saint-Martin, or the watchtower named "the Tower Balar", as well as the chapel of the Penitents which was built in the eleventh century.

A couple of spaces from the village, in direction to Lespignan, please , do not miss to go and have a look at the puits(well) of Pagèze "Our Lady de Lierse".

This beautiful small market town will seduce you with its alleys, the kindness and greeting of its inhabitants.

Do not hesitate to taste the invaluable nectar (wine), resulting from 12 particular cellars and from the cooperative cellar.

Absolutely to visit : huts of the place named Fleury which is a charming little fishing port located in the mouth of the Aude.
