Between the cities of Narbonne
and Carcassonne
, in the middle of the region called Corbières, with vineyards as far as the eye can see, is situated a charming village called "Lagrasse".
Its name comes from the Latin "gratia", which means the grace, being reminiscent of the state of mind reached by certain monks in this abbey. This village full up with fortifications and medieval houses, in wooden pieces, is proud to be called the "most beautiful village in France".

During your visit, take your time and let you captivate by its small alleys, the medieval workshops, the old bridges, the covered markets dating from the fourteenth century, the church of the thirteenth century without bell tower(destroyed in 1537), and its real jewel "the Abbey Benedictine
". Do stroll along the river Orbier, please, take a walk in the botanical path of Rouch, surrounded with pines and oaks and you will no doubt understand why this village got its name.
