Durban is situated about twenty Kilometres far from the city named Sigean
, it already existed in the Gallo-Romaine time.
The historians think that in this place was built the first church dedicated to Saint Just.
Historically Cathar, this village didn't have a great importance, because the Lord Guillaume de Durban pledged loyalty to King of France from 1328.
The castle, of which the first tracks date from the eleventh century and the high part of the village are surrounded with a wall of fortifications. You will discover however from there a magnificent view.
We advise you to have a look at the Holy church Saint-Just-Holy Minister with, in its nave, a splendid wooden Christ dated from the sixteenth century and its medieval door transformed into a bell tower.
We advise you also to stroll in this full of charm countryside ,surrounded with vineyards, to visit the Holy church Ruphine, in 1,5 km of Tuchan in the southwest, as well as the one of Saint Raphine (famous holy Spaniards).
