From the antiquity the site of The Short story(piece of news) is a stopping-off place for vessels reuniting the port of Narbonne
. The first stones of the current port are put at the very beginning of the 18th century.
In the course of the centuries the harbour activity takes there more and more importance, and in fact the third French port(bearing) of the Mediterranean Sea.
In 1844, the 21 exactly, Louis Philippe, King of France, ratifies the law relative to the change of territorial district of the Short story(piece of news) which until then was a part of the municipality of Sigean
. The municipality of The Short story(piece of news) was born.
Today 13 km of sandy beach at the end, reception which is proposed to you there, make(do) of this place a very appreciated authentic and domestic beach.
The lovers of the drive(ride) can discover the plateau which overhangs the city, by crossing(going through) the path of the Coomb Redonde.
Throughout this walk you will discover the guarrigue primitive and protected from any exploitation, the arbustive vegetation sculptured by the wind as well as of magnificent points of view on the sea and the bank.
