Museum d'Art Sacré du gar

Jewel of the heritage from the region Gard, the house of the Knights is ancient mansion, built from the twelfth century, by a great family of traders of the valley of the Rhone, called the Piolenc; they did not stop changing it and embellishing her it until the end of the eighteenth century.

Exceptional decors painted in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries in the ceremonial rooms and in the Royal Court of justice invite the guest to discover at the same time History as well as Aesthetic.


The collection of the museum of sacred art , the reference collection of the sacred art in the Anglo-Saxon world, allies Fine Arts and religious ethnography, from the paintings dating from the fifteenth century to the Christmas crib figures dating from the nineteenth century.

Opening hours: Everyday, except on Mondays, from 10. 00 till 12. 00 and from 14. 00 till 18. 00, from June the fifteenth until September the fifteenth from 15. 00 till 19. 00. Closed in February.
