In the museum...



Installed(settled) in the former(ancient) school of the Jesuits of the XVII-th century, the Archaeological Museum presents collection of local and regional origin of the Age of the iron, of time gallo - steelyard and of Moyen-Age.



Next to a multitude of ceramic, daily objects of the life sigiliées, bronze dishes, oil lamps in cooked or bronze earth(ground) decorated with figurative motives, objects familliers bound(connected) to the finery, to the dress(toilet) or to the different craft activities, the museum possesses a very important collection of stemming Roman glass factory(glass-making) essentially of funeral contexts.



The antique two houses of the region nîmoise were reconstituted according to the data of searches(excavations) archaeological recent: a Gallic house and a room(chamber) of a Roman house.



The Museum is opened every day, except Monday and holidays (in January 1-st, in May 1-st, in December 25) from 11. 00 till 18. 00 and from April 1-st till September 30 from 10. 00 till 18. 00.
