Built in 1907 to replace the museum situated in the former(ancient) general hospital of Nimes
, current Daudet secondary school become too much exigu, it(he) was reorganized in 1986-87 by Jean-Michel Wilmotte.
At the first floor, the big Roman mosaic, Admete's marriage, occupies the central part(party) of the vast hall. She(it) was discovered(found) to the place of the central halls.
The museum is the second of Languedoc for the number of works which it contains: French, Flemish and Dutch paintings, Italian works of the XVI-th and XVII-th, remarkable collection of French paintings of the XVIII-th and XIX-th centuries.
The museum is opened every day, except Monday and holidays (in January 1-st, in May 1-st and December 25) from 11. 00 till 18. 00 and from April 1-st till September 30 from 10. 00 till 18. 00.
