Saint Gilles's abbey church :
She(it) is situated in the town centre. Of the XII-th century, of Romanic style and possesses a facade beautiful.

The Crypt, the low church divided into nefs 3, contains Saint Gilles's grave. The spiral staircase of the former(ancient) choir, bent in sailed stones, dating the 12th century, is of a rare and recognized execution.

This spiral staircase was very early a famous work, a stage of the companions quarriers who came to engrave(burn) their nickname or their currency(slogan) during their passage.

The Romanic House :
In the town centre. Native house of the pope Clément 4 (13th century) which shelters a museum of archaeology, ornithology of camargue and ethnography.

The Port : In the Greek time, Saint Gilles was one harbour town which was in border of a ancient arm of the Rhone. It(he) will know hours of glory in the 11th, 12th and 17th century, and periods of decline.

At the beginning of the 17th century, during the construction of the canal of the Rhone in Sète , trunks of Saint Gilles's wine (which(who) had big reputation) was loaded with(in charge) on barges, to Sète , Lyon and Paris.
