But the city was born really with the construction of the Abbey Saint André in the 10th century which was totally destroyed in the Revolution (1789).

Numerous sites are to visit :

- Strong Saint André builds from 1362 till 1368 to protect the Abbey some ruins of which there are only.

- The Chartreuse of the Valley of Blessing: convent was based in the 14th century by the Pope Innocent 6, was established(constituted) by a church, three convents, a chapel and of numerous dependences.

- The Tower Philippe le Bel : fortress built in 1302. Of the summit, one has a magnificent sight on all the region.

- The Chapel of Penitent Grey of the 18th century,

- The Pierre museum of Luxemburg (paintings of the 15th in 18th centuries),

- The Collective church Our Lady is built in 1333 in the Gothic style.

to note : the Tourist information office sells a "Passport for the Art" who allows to visit 5 monuments.
