Small village was situated on the border of the Hérault, next to Lunel
on the road of beaches.
Under the former(ancient) regime, Aimargues was the capital of low Vistrenque and was a part of the fief of the family of Uzès
. Between 1342 and 1364 were built by ramparts, it is in 1630, after the end of the religious wars when king ordered their destruction.

Small anecdote, stones were of use to the construction of the city of Aigues-Mortes
. In the South of the village is "la Glacière", renewed in 1991. It is an original monument because she assured(insured) families noble and rich in the region, the conservation of the firmly packed snow allowing to obtain from the ice(mirror). To see also both laundries of the 19th (the one in the North and the other one in the South which has just been renewed).
In the South of the village, in 2 kilometres is situated Teillan's castle. This castrum former(ancient) Roman carried(wore) the name of "villa Telliamis" among which the most former(ancient) documents found this day, date 814 and 960. In the 12th century, it(he) was sold to Psalmody's abbey. Thanks to a decree of 1635 the owners of the castle, were authorized to collect in the magnificent park, Roman vestiges.
This charming small village, livens up all year round (not to miss "the day Fanfonne Guillerme" which takes place traditionally in March.
