Located like in a nest in green valley of Jaur, with the mountain Caroux which raises 1100 m, in the brightness of the Mediterranean sky in background, the village called Olargues is one of the most beautiful interest area of the Regional natural reserve of High-Languedoc.
The bell tower of the ancient donjon of the castle has been hardly restored not so long ago, still remains a precious evidence of the Romanic way of building in the High-Languedoc.
Its old houses spaced out in a very good way, its meandering alleys, the medieval bridge, all that give the impression of a quiet and sunny spot.
The ancient doors of the city, the high ramparts which seem to be hold on the rock, add a feudal appearance to that splendid little village.
