Founded about 2600 years ago by the Greek from Marseille
, the city called Agde takes place on the basaltic and solid rock of ancient volcanoes. Later it is the famous navigator whose name is "Marco Polo" who gave the city the name of "black city". Many relics of the past were found dating from that time among which a splendid statue of an Adonis called in French Éphèbe
exhibited in Cap d'Agde
. The river is in the middle of the town, appearing through its reflections on the dark stone of the façades which are all sunny.
