Béziers is today a rich city because of the farming of its vineyards which allows to generate wines of excellent quality. An heritage rich to discover :

The Cathedral Saint-Nazaire, completely destroyed in 1209, was rebuilt in the thirteenth century, with fortified towers from XII-th and XV-th centuries, also with subterranean apses and its convent.

The basilica Saint-Aphrodise of the twelfth and fourteenth centuries, with its baptismal place which has the shape of a sarcophagus on which a lion hunting is drawn.

The museum Fayet (sculptures and paintings), the museum Fabrégat (sculptures and paintings) and the museum of Biterrois (the man of the region since its roots).

Close by : The nine locks of Fonsérane allow to take back a level difference of 25 metres on the canal du Midi which connects the Mediterranean Sea with the Atlantic Ocean and was built by Pierre-Paul Riquet in the seventeenth century.
