The middle-aged village named Poussan is a circular place in the region Languedoc. Thousand years... Of history... Many centuries shaped it and even gave it a soul.
The village exists because of founding members of a family : their name was Porcia (Gallo-Roman family, first century before JC), pig breeders. The village was then called Porcan ,certainly due to the popular image they represented to honour the family founders. The fortified village is a beautiful example of these agglomerations in circular shape which is the first demonstration of the urban development

Poussan is quoted for the first time in the year 960. It is about the eleventh century that the agglomeration is going to take its shape around its castles: Montlaur in the twelfth century, Malbois in the sixteenth century and Garenne in the seventeenth century. do not to miss something worthy to be seen : Every year, at the end of the month of May, the village lives a Medieval day. Traders and riders, fire-eaters and troubadours... animate this day. Please, discover its rich heritage among which a magnificent coffered ceiling or ceiling said "in the French manner". Visit of the medieval village from May until October: on Tuesdays, at 10 o'clock and on Thursdays, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon; the visit lasts one hour and a half.
