Vic la Gardiole


The name of the city comes from the Latin word vicus: village, formerly enclosed by a fortified wall.


Vic-la-Gardiole is a tourist commune situated between the beach of Aresquiers and the national forest of Gardiole.

Nowadays the city of 3500 inhabitants surrounded with vineyards(muscatel wine ) knows a remarkable development.

Near the sea and at the border of the pond which gets the same name, the city is a natural beauty spot.

It preserves a rich heritage of the past and has got magnificent beaches.

do not to miss to have a look at :

- The fortified church of the twelfth century ( M.H).

- The pine forest and beach of Aresquiers.

- The guarrigue of "Gardiole".

Manifestations : on last Sunday of July.
