Villeneuve-lès-Béziers was built in 778 on an uncultivated ground which was a part of possessions given by the emperor Charlemagne to certain Valchaire.

Ancient "villanova", mentioned in 1061, the municipality was tortured by Simon de Montfort, in the point to carry(wear) the name of "Cremade", that is The Brulée.
