The cave of Dargilan

The cave...

It is by the natural entrance that one reaches in an horizontal way one of the hugest subterranean rooms in France (140m x 50m x 25m).

The tourist walks throughout this huge cavity, in the middle of all kinds of alive crystal structures with natural strongly marked colours (stalactites, stalagmites, fistulous...).

  The subterranean river...

The second part, a former bed of subterranean river, shows you the most imposing concretions of the natural cave : calcite flow of 2 000m2 (unique because of its dimensions), majestic columns, draperies, crystalline lakes...

After having stayed one hour under the ground at a temperature of 10°C, the exit which is on a cliff shows a gorgeous panorama on the Gorges of Jonte.
