Chaze represents the occitan word "Chaza", north occitane variant of "accommodated" ("house"). In the time of dolmens, the word "accommodated" is the word which used(employed) our ancestors to indicate a house.
After several changes (mansione, hospitales, oustal) in the time of Romans, the poor phéhistorique word "accommodated" finds at home a second life.

One associates "Peyre's" word which sings as a tune in the names of our villages and proves that everything here is marked by "Peyre's" label.
Village of 216 inhabitants, in 1040 m of height, La Chaze-de-Peyre benefits from a rough but vivifying and restful climate.
In 3 km of Aumont-Aubrac
, this peaceful village presents to the walker its impressive granite bell tower, solidly leaned in the church and its choir which dates the XII-th century.
Among(enter) La Chaze-de-Peyre and Lasbros, in some steps of the village of La Pignede, one finds the tracks of the way a small solitary chapel based in 1525 by the priest Bastide, dedicated formerly to the Holy Cross Caught and, not far from there, and where from, since 1868, one worships the Virgo of Salette.
La-Chaze-de-Peyre offers his(her) wild nature with his(her) forests of pines, his(her) green meadows, his(her) rivers and brooks but also his(her) marked out paths which invite us in the approach and make(do) a stage of choice of it.
