Langogne is a municipality of 3600 inhabitants, it is also a classified health resort "Green Station of Holidays" in the heart of the Central Massif.

Situated in 913 m of height, in the conflent of Allier and Langouyrou, she(it) opens her(its) doors to Gévaudan, to Auvergne and to the High Ardèche.

Langogne offers to his(her) guests a strong potential of activities and leisure activities. It is also an economic and commercial zone with notably its traditional markets and the Fair Competition.

The glance of the guest will not miss to linger over the former(old) numerous doors of the historic centre. Our Lady, the facade of the church of Penitent built in the XVII-th century by the brotherhood places. Halle in the Wheat, one of Langogne's most beautiful monuments, was built in 1743 by the Prior Ambroise Fleury. Under Halle was held the market in grains(beads).

Every year, the big flowery parade of the Votive Holiday is chaired by Gargantua. Person of legend, it(he) marked Lozère of its(his) exploit, but only Langogne dedicates him(her) a sort of cult.
Symbolizing the joy of living, the ripailles and the full paunch, this hero consoled Langonais, at least by the dream. Indeed, their rough and poor life was placed under the yoke of the austere monks Benedictines.

By rising on Beauregard's mound, one can contemplate the landscape spreading out on more than 15 km in the surroundings. In the East, the high trays of Vivarais. In the South, the tray(plateau) of Bar, where, in the distant guesses the Forest of Mercoire.

On the West, is outlined Rocles's bell tower. In the northeast, the Mountain - Milan where, according to the tradition, stayed Caesar after he had dislodged the Gallic from their citadel. But this is maybe only a myth !!!...

Nevertheless, there are tracks of the activity(occupation) Gallo-Romaine.
