Church Notre-Dame des Anges

This church was built between 1684 and 1691. Its bell tower actually is the ancient lighthouse of the old port of the resort called Collioure , this church replaces the one of the district of the high city which has been destroyed on the orders of Vauban, that as early as 1670.

Inside, you will discover nine wonderful finely in gold sculptured wooden altarpieces.



The Catalan artist, Joseph Sunyer, author of the High altar, a majestic triptych with 3 floors and the Holy Sacrament.



In the sacristy, you will discover an impressive treasure which is composed of a reliquary from the sixteenth century, of paintings from the fifteenth century, a wonderful piece of furniture wardrobe from the fifteenth century, a Virgin dating from the seventeenth century as well as sacred vases.

Underground the church is the grave of the Spanish poet Machado
