Towards 10000 the year in the Near East takes place a radical change of the way of life, which appears then in Europe at about 6000 years.

The first villages appear, the man begins to produce his food, domesticates certain animals, cultivates cereal and invents the pottery.

It is this fundamental stage of the history of the men(people), called the neolithic revolution, that Château-Musée of Bélesta invites you to discover.

The discovery was made(done) in 1983, in the cave is everything made remarkable.

This day, indeed, people who live in the village decided to go to investigate this natural cavity and they discovered an archaeological deposit of the Neolithic.

The archaeologists who relieved then mirror in the day a collective grave grouping together(including) around thirty individuals and offerings accompanying them in their last stay.

It is these offerings, extremely rare one collection of 28 potteries that are presented in the former medieval castle of the village.

You will enter the reconstruction of the cave to share this first glance over 6000 years of history, finally on the steps of the archaeologists vosu will discover the techniques of searches(excavations).
