Céret

Céret

The city named Céret is located in the North of Pyrenees, between two cities : Boulou and Amélie-les-Bains , seven kilometres only away from the exit of the highway.

Before entering into the city, please, do have a stop to admire the old bridge of this town Céret, nicknamed "the Bridge of the Devil" and the splendour of
the surrounding landscape.

Céret is the capital town of the cherry and it is at the beginning of the twentieth century that this village accepted into itself and greeted a lot of contemporary artists (Picasso, Manolo, Hugue, Matisse, Braque) who were attracted by the natural beauty of this charming city and also by its colourful landscape.

Don't miss under no excuse the museum of contemporary art creates in 1950.

Do not hesitate to stroll in the streets to discover an atmosphere typically from the Catalan land, with its monuments such as the church "Santa Catalena", the porte d'Espagne (the door of Spain) and its numerous relics of the past.

By making(doing) a break shielded from plane trees on the big boulevard, in the c oe ur of the city, you will understand why so many big artists came in Céret
