Situated not far away from the city Perpignan
, this village is one of the wine-producing capitals of the region named Roussillon well-known all over the world known because of its natural mild wine.
It is not very known however that the apricot is the prince of the municipality with more than 1 000 tons annually produced.
Of the historic side, in the tenth century the village starts by people to be talked about. It is fortified in the twelfth century, some tracks of it are still here and there.
Do stop at the church Saint André to discover this building of the seventeenth century and its splendid organs. A museum is dedicated to the glory of the child of the land, the marshal Joffre (on 1852 - on 1931) in its native house.
This warrior, commanding in chief of the armies of North and Northeast during the first world war gains a victory of the Marne in September, 1914. On the alley for walking you can admire its equestrian statue.
One of the hugest burial vaults of the department was built in the fifteen century and welcomes nowadays all around the year temporary exhibitions.
