The peak of Canigou dominates Vernet-Les-Bains. This village is situated in Conflent, about fifteen minutes from Villefranche-de-Conflent .

This spa already well-known in the Middle Ages, was very much appreciated at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Well-known and high names of the English aristocracy and also a great number of artists( Arthur Kipling for instance) stayed there very regularly.

Besides, in the village you will admire a charming church of Anglican type. The village is surrounded with apple trees and with oaks, which, when you will reach the high city, give a magnificent sight of the surroundings. Have a look at its very beautiful church Saint-Saturnin which dominates the old village and its medieval castle.
