Perched on a volcanic rocky peak, the castle named Calmont d'Olt is the centre of an exceptional beauty spot.
Dominating the valley of Lot, it seems this fortified place watches Limestone plateau and Aubrac. It is about the year 1000 that the first lords of Calmont d'Olt are known. This real medieval fortress was built from the eleventh century to the fifteenth one.
About the year 1400, the ravages coming from the One hundred years war in Rouergue, and the adaptation to new weapons, (the powder exists for a century) requires new fortifications, so a low surrounding wall with eight towers and thirty two loopholes were built.

A round game attracts children into the discovery of the castle, this by the mean of twelve tests of their observation to try to win the knight's diploma of the castle Calmont d'Olt. The adults will accompany them up to the donjon in which they will see a model of the castle such as it was in 1400.
You can also attend the training.
