For centuries, the industries of the skin and the glove give rhythm to the business of the city of Millau
and of the region of Limestone plateaus.
Millau's museum exposes(explains) all the aspects of the chain(channel) of transformation of the raw skins t perishable in fine, supple(flexible), soft skins: it is the work of mégissiers, stemming at the same moment from ancestral traditions and the most modern techniques.

It is necessary to caress(cherish) of the hand these skins of lambs, raised(brought up) on the Big Limestone plateaus, which always make(do) the good name of the city of Millau. It is necessary to admire the skill of the glovers and the glovers who cut, sew, exaggerate or decorate the various parts(parties) of gloves.
Machines and tools liven up (in summer only) during the demonstrations of cup(cutting) and sewing of gloves in a renconstitué workshop(studio). And hundreds of models of yesterday and today, realized to Millau for most couturiers, testify of the art of the glove. Next to these industrial activities, one can see in the museum the tracks of the daily life of Gallo-Romains, their cults and their funeral rites.

A lead patch carries(wears), a Gallic language, the longest text which is known this day: " a prayer sent by a group of women to a dead druidess ".
The museum is opened from April 1-st till September 30, every day except May 1-st. In July and August from 10 o'clock till 18 o'clock. From October 1-st till March 31, every day except Sundays and holidays from 10 o'clock till 12 o'clock and from 14 o'clock till 18 o'clock.
