Welcome on the Canton of Espalion, in the crossroads of three soils, the valley of the Lot, the Aubrac and the limestone plateau.
Capital of Nord-Aveyron, Espalion welcomes you with his(her) monuments of various times and his(her) numerous sports and cultural activities.
The city of Espalion developed on the banks of the Lot (formerly "olt") 480 km long and tributary of the Garonne.

Espalion is situated on one of the big Roads of the Pilgrimage of Saint-Jacques de Compostelle (via Podiensis) leaving Puy in Velay and crossing(spending) by Conques
(today the GR65). Olt's section Saint-Côme - Estaing was classified in the world patrimony by UNESCO in 1998, as well as Pont-Vieux-d'Espalion.
Espalion is a city rich in monuments for some in pink stoneware, with the traditional image of the Old Palace the Renaissance.
