Nested at feet of the Black Mountain, Revel's bastide was born in 1342 thanks to Philippe de Valois.

The central place : majestic one hall of the XIV-th century was covered with pink tiles(blows), was surmounted by a bell tower. The building sheltered Town Hall with its watchtower, the Chamber of the Consuls and the prison.

The church Our Lady of the Graces, built in 1350 by the consuls of Revel was demolished repeatedly during the religious wars and reconstructed in the end of the XVII-th century. Today the church presents a facade of dissimilar and ill-assorted style built in 1878. In 1889 , two domes inspired by Italian and oriental buildings were added. Being quoted Furniture of Art for more than half a century, the Space "Art and Piece of furniture", the "Conservatoire of the Professions by the Wood" and "Biennal of the Piece of furniture" are the representative shop windows of Revel's know-how.

Natural side and activities Revel and neighborhood propose a network of important pedestrian paths. On foot, in cycle or on horseback you will leave in the discovery of the forests of the Black Mountain and the vast fields of Lauragais. Rivers and lakes of the surroundings will allow you to fish for trouts, pikes and pikeperches. Revel's aéroclub situated to Vaure proposes you first flight with pilot experimented over Lauragais and over the Black Mountain.

Just a step from Revel in a case of greenery, you will discover Saint-Ferréol and the lake which establishes(constitutes) the main reservoir of the Canal of Noon.
