The topography very strongly conditioned(packaged) the history of Riez. In the heart of the vast Valensole's plateau which covers 800 km2, a tabular hill overhangs the confluence of three valleys, crossed(gone through) by rivers in the whimsical debits(outputs).

These corridors were borrowed(taken) from the Height - empire Roman by communications. Auguste bases his colony in a crossroads of roads connecting Aix and Fréjus in High Provence.

Today artisans of art, potters, businesses pérennisent the trade tradition of this village. Riez propose products of the soil which flatter(pat) the palace : stuff, honey, games and the others which perfume the country as the lavandin, the sage.
