The History :
"This mountain is nameless ; she(it) deserves of it one of the most beautiful". And so was born the name of Mont-Dauphin.
Indeed, in 1692 , further to the destructions of Duke de Savoie, Vauban is sent by Louis XIV to strengthen the Alps.

The tray(plateau) "curses" Miles Winds answered perfectly the necessary criteria for the construction of a fortified town : geographic situtation, natural protection.
The fortified town was never attacked(affected).
Today, Mont-Dauphin presents a beautiful, completely representative architectural patrimony of the defensive system "to Vauban".
You will be amazed by the ingenuity of this big architect whose main idea was the peace.
Furthermore Mont-Dauphin having lost its military function(office), a business developed around the craft : leather, pottery, painting on silk or sundials, there is for all the tastes !
