Administrative centre of active and dynamic canton, Laragne became in some years the capital Européenne of the hang-gliders (amateurs of air sports), by welcoming in 1994 the championships of Europe of wing delta.
The international site Laragne-Chabre was also transformed into springboard of almost permanent takeoff for deltae and parapentes, thanks to an aerology and a climate exceptional. From there height, they can contemplate the municipality nested in the hollow of orchards.
