The old village : Contrary to most of the Provençal villages, Valbonne was built according to a plan in checkerboard, says orthogonal, established by the monks of Lérins. The oblong shape is sharply inspired by the plan of the Roman camps; the village is limited by "houses ramparts", and includes a front door on each of its sides.
Sophia Antipolis : With the creation of Sophia Antipolis, the municipality of Valbonne is going to know its deepest alteration(transfer). The technopole welcomes, more than 1000 styles as well as public or private, research bodies, international dimension. Today, it is 1 300 companies, 25 000 direct employments(uses), 3 000 students.
