The village of Carros, crowning a cliff dominating the valley of the Var, presents an unique(only) silhouette in a remarkable environment, in only fifteen minutes an airport of Nice Côte d'Azur.

The Creation of the International Centre of Contemporary Art in the historic site of Carros's castle marks the will to establish(constitute) a new cultural centre of attention, witness of its region but was so opened on the world.

At the top of the village, the castle was, through centuries, a point of resistance to all the invasions. Rich in more than eight centuries of History, it is one of the most former(ancient) castles of Provence. It(he) appears for the first time in a text dated 1156.
