One can see her(it), at feet of Coudon, néogothique among hundred-years-old pines and cypress, and unusual in the industrial park of Pauline.
The ogivale chapel was built from 1850 till 1852 according to the plans of the architect of Lyons
Fountain which collaborated with famous artists as the sanctuary Pradier and the boss glassworker Marshal, of Metz.
The building was dedicated by the bishop of Fréjus
, Monseigneur Wicart. One said there the mass every Sunday and holidays for the feudal lords and the inhabitants of neighborhood.
The work of Fountain was perfectly made a success and one can there notice, among others: - Above the gate(portal) in triple arches a "Angel of the Apocalypse" ; - At the top of the broken bow, an oculus with a badge in the monogram S.C.B. (Sanctus Carolus Borromeus) ; above, the flower was spread by the rosette; - On the vertical foothills, statues and Saint-Charles Borromée and of saint - Thérèse, bosses of couple Farnous ; - In the summit a pinnacle among which the eight columns of white marble support a pyramid supporting(bearing), in more than twenty metres, the terminal cross ; - The eardrum and its bottom - relief representing Saint-Charles Borromée looking after the pestiférés of Milan in 1537.
Harmony outside, the chapel is it also inside by the balance of its proportions. She(it) contains gray marble "Piéta" of Pyrenees owed, as the bottom - relief of the eardrum, to Pradier's chisel.
The chapel belonged, towards 1870, to Saint-Victor Clappier, then, by legacy, in the archbishopric of Digne
, until, to protect this miniature of church ogivale, the Municipality of The Nurse made an owner of it, for the symbolic franc, in 1984.
Let us note that during the activity(occupation), the chapel was saved from the destructive fury of the Germans thanks to the brave stubbornness of the abbot Davignon.
