Until the environment(middle) of the XVII-th century, Saint-Mandrier was an island, benefiting from a moderate microclimate. This making(doing), the bay(berry) of "Cros Saint-Georges" was a shelter hardly appreciated by vessels.
Saint-Mandrier occupies a surface of 510 ha half of which belongs to the Navy. At the beginning of this century it was a small port of fishing and business. Today, the "peninsula of charm" became a magnificent port, welcoming magnificent yachts and boats of cruise.
