Trans is a very former(ancient) village. The tradition wants that it(he) was primitively built on the hill Saint Victor. The inhabitants would have gone down(fallen) very early on the current site where from the word of "Trans" which in Latin means "beyond". The De Villeneuve family, of Catalan origin, reigns over the village from 1200 till 1790. She(it) lives in a said castle Fortress and the villagers settle down all around. This castle was destroyed(annulled) in the end of the 16th century.

Today, Trans is not any more a rural village but a city of 4741 inhabitants. The environment developed in all the surrounding campaign.
In the heart of the village you will discover its waterfalls to the restless cliffs, dominated by a city hall the facade of which dates Louis 15, its church with its altarpiece of style the baroque and a polychromatic wooden virgin of the 16th century, its fountains, its old bridges, its baker's oven warmed in the wood, its santonnier, its restaurants and many other curiosities.
