In 11 km of Apt
and in the terminus of a tarred road a poster of which announces you the end, the very picturesque village of Sivergues ( 41 inhabitants) scatters its rare houses on a territory of about 1000 ha, which stages between 400 and near 1000 metres in height.
At the end of our current canton of Bonnieux
, the soil of Sivergues lived several centuries folded up on his(her) vaudoises convictions.

Crossed(gone through) by the Ayguebrun, the municipality is especially established(constituted) by wood and by moors, the breeding of goats(tackles) and the culture of the lavandin, being situated in the continuation of the tray(plateau) of the Claparèdes which, since Bonnieux and by Buoux
, lines the reliefs of the Luberon.
If the tradition makes go back up(raise) the hamlet to the foundation of a convent in Ve century, by the woman of the first bishop of Apt, Beaver, helped by six partners ("Sex Virgines"), the real conglomeration is born at the dawn of the XVI-th century, with the installation of 7 vaudoises families called by the Lord to cultivate the abandoned lands. Until the last century, the community remained essentially Protestant.
Although appearing to live outside the civilization, Sivergues is wrapped(surrounded) with a particular atmosphere which will not escape in true nature lover ; they will not regret the bend for this site so magnificently described by Henri Bosco.
