In 1736, Joseph Panon, one of both threads of Auguste Panon, realized a demarcation of his property when he made a fall in a small tributary of the river of Cliffs.
The tributary took immediately the name of "Bras Panon" in memory of the fall, this name édendit then in all the district which depended on the nearby municipality of Saint André.
On February 24, 1882, a decree of the President, Jules Grévy, sets up the district as autonomous municipality. Big domains become established there, as that of the Union which(who) has the own sugar refinery.
Today, Bras Panon is the processing centre of the vanilla.

- The Waterfall of the Peace, real paradise for the fishermen of fresh water,

- The Domain of the Peace (on Bras-Panon's heights).
