Saint-Gilles is situated in 35 km of Saint-Denis . It is only a tiny city but its beaches and the neighborhoods the tourist capital of the island makes(does) it, in a sense. It is a compulsory stage during your stay on the island.

Reunion offers its most beautiful beaches on Saint-Gilles and its neighborhood : Boucan Canot, the Black Cliffs, the Hermitage and the Saline-les-Bains where the water is never there desssous of 22/24 °.

All the water sports can be practised as well as many others :
- Plunged, Veil(sail),
- Water-skiing, fishing to the big person(main part),
- Windsurfing board, Surfing
- Tennis, equitation, parachutes, rent of cycle and motorcycles, flying over the island in helicopter...
